Summer is coming to an end. It seems we had a short window of time to be with friends and family and reunite. Hopefully most of you were able to spend quality time with loved ones. For this painting I wanted to express the importance of sharing and being together. I married bright colors and fun shapes to create a lively atmosphere.

Recently I was introduced to Reiki and the powers of crystals. I had my first Reiki session about a month ago. To be honest I knew very little about Reiki and realized I was pronouncing it all wrong too! But, there is a first time for everything and my skepticism was hanging in the air.
My Reiki Master, Michele is a gentle petite woman that creates calm and trust the minute she meets you. Her knowledge is immense on the subject of Chakra crystals and Reiki.
I arrive to her studio and living in Las Vegas it's only 115 degrees that day. Michele instructs me to lay down on the table, I relax with a scented eye pillow over my eyes, she explains a bit more of the purpose of everything and has a chant in both Japanese and English that she recites before she begins. She starts at the top of my head and places her hands lightly on my head. I see a wonderful soft explosion of color dancing in my mind's eye. I was amazed! I had know idea that this was even possible. As she continued placing her hands lightly and sometimes just hovering over me the colors would magically the colors change. They all have a meaning to our bodies and minds. I feel that when we view art and color it can have the same effect and helps focus our body and mind as well. I plan on doing more abstracts such as these and study the meaning of different colors and how they effect people. I hope you enjoy this lovely painting.

Summertime and the easy is living! Just a play on words. One last announcement before I start getting back out into the world and hugging those that I miss and meeting and greeting new friends.
It's been a difficult year and a half for us all but I hope that everyone is doing fine and getting back into the groove of living to the fullest.
I hope you enjoy my latest painting," Una Donna e Due Pesci", ( One woman and 2 fish). It is an acrylic/oil,handmade collage and cold wax medium on canvas. It measures 48h x 36w. This painting makes me smile, I hope it does the same for you.
Cheers to life!
Growing up surrounded by lakes and having a father that loved to fish I have a special fondness for fish. I ate plenty of lake fish growing up and still do. Every summer we had an endless supply of fresh fish and both my parents were very creative when it came to cooking it.
Now with summer coming upon us my memories of being on a lake fishing with my Dad brings a smile to my face.
Whimsical it may be but there is a lot of love and good memories to be seen in this painting.
Wishing you all a wonderful summer filled with lazy fishing days, cookouts with family and friends and lots of BIG fish stories to share.
Cheers to a happy, healthy summer!

Happy almost springtime!
Spring brings us flowers, colors, fresh fruits and vegetables. Bright colored foods can make any meal so much more enjoyable. Feast with your eyes before you eat. This painting is truly a feast for the eyes, bright colors of fruits and flowers and why not wear a fish as a hat! I was having fun with this painting, we need a little bit of humor as we approach the end of the Covid 19 tunnel.
I hope this newsletter finds everyone healthy in both mind and body and may your spirit be lifted with my art.

For the past 11 months we all have been isolated from our friends and even loved ones. For some reason I have found comfort in my ability to cook at home and experience eating with the same person day in and day out. That person would be my other half, he normally would prefer red meat but since I have control of the kitchen we have been eating a lot of fish, vegetables and trust me plenty of wine, which conveniently can all be delivered by a stroke of a computer key. I think this painting can accurately represent my life these past 11 months.
I hope you all remain safe and healthy and find the humor in this painting. Without laughter life would be unbearable, so please keep the laughter alive.

Cheers to 2021!
Because I feel that, in the Heavens above,
The angels, whispering to one another,
Can find, among their burning terms of love,
None so devotional as that of ‘Mother’ …

Wishing you all Happy Holidays and may 2021 bring peace, good health and happiness to you all.

We are starting our traditional family time, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah and just being together. Since we have this hiccup in our lives I have to still paint happy, brightness, togetherness and love. These days we are experiencing are a temporary episode and will quickly pass. Be kind to one another, respecting one another is critical during these times. I don't think that it's too much for us to handle. May my Poetic Garden bring you joy, peace and happiness.
I am thankful for each and everyone, happy thanksgiving!
